There’s
something about dancing that lets Parkinson’s sufferers lose the
twitching, jerking movements characteristic of their affliction. While they
dance their movements become smooth and normal. So for those seeking escape
from the frustration of their bodies not doing what they want this is
heaven. A chance to move to music, enjoy the romance and drama of the
tango, meet fellow explorers in the world of normal movement and spend some
time feeling free of the disease. Current research s studying how long the
effects last. Results include improved balance, easier walking and fewer
falls.
